Chicago Blackhawks are the 2010 Stanley Cup Champs!

I am still so excited I can barely contain it! This series vs. the Flyers has been really good. I was starting to think that it would go to game 7, but thanks to hockey god Patrick Kane, we won! 4-3! in overtime! And Captain Jonathan Toews won the Conn Smythe Trophy as playoff MVP. The game winning goal, scored by Patrick Kane, took everyone by surprise. No one was sure, except for Kane, that it went in, until it was replayed. There was no signal from the officials, but the team just knew! The playoffs have been great and a lot of good hockey was played. Now, to wish I could be in Chicago and go to the parade. THANK YOU HAWKS!!! It was a great season and you have proven to be a great team, a good cohesive unit. You have shown what a good team can be like.

I think today’s game will be a good game. We, of course, are looking for revenge from last year’s game where we lost at the very end of the game. And we are a better team this year. Yet, Atlanta has picked up Tony Gonzalez, which was a great move for them. They have a good quarterback in Matt Ryan and of course, they have Roddy White. Our offense has improved as well, and we still do have Matt Forte. And I see that Devin Hester improves every game. (His shoulder should not be an issue in this game). I do believe we can win this game. GO BEARS!!

Chicago Bears vs. Green Bay Packers

I think we have a good team this year. Jay Cutler seems to be getting into a groove already, especially with Greg Olsen (who I think will have a good season). While I don’t think we will go to the Super Bowl this season (maybe next?), I think we will have a good season. And what a game to start the season! GO BEARS!

Blackhawks going to the Conference Finals! And a hat trick for Patrick Kane! What a game last night!

PatrickKane after hat trickLast night’s game in the United Center against the Canucks was wild! I wish I could have been there. But I watched every minute of the game at home. And loved it! I did not expect such a high scoring game either, but it was great! And Patrick Kane’s hat trick, well, what else can I say? It was fabulous! And so exciting, too! These young players, Burish, Kane, Sharp, Toews and so many others, have brought life back into Chicago hockey. The excitement in the United Center spilled into even my home. We won, 7-5. The Canucks, to their credit, did not just give up and roll over. I am glad of that. It was a great game, with scoring back and forth, especially in the 3rd period. The Canucks goaltender, Roberto Luongo, is a good goaltender too. However, of course, I am thrilled that we came out on top last night. Now, we go on to the Conference finals, for the first time since 1995. We will play whoever wins the Ducks-Red Wings series. They play game 6 of their series tonight, with the Red Wings winning that one so far. And of course, like most Blackhawks fan, I am hoping that the Red Wings win that one. Then the finals would be some real exciting games. We have only gotten better as the season has progressed, so the loss of the Winter Classic is just a distant memory. We won the last 2 regular season games against them, so there is true hope! GO HAWKS!
